'what bird will you be for me Ellie?' He smiled half heartedly and shrugged
'I suppose it was'nt this way before was it? does it really matter? all that matters is that i take on a birdlike form'
'You havent changed,' his eyes closed and in the dim light it felt as though sleep could have easily found him,'still th same girl i knew back in the playground, we are grown-ups now Ellie, we aren't the great transformers we used to be, no flying away can happen now'
his words left without reaching her ears and she tugged at his arm, a stubborn smile pasted across her face, 'We're so gonna fly Charles, all the way back to when we were great!'
hi face rested into a cosy pout and he examined her eyes as if mapping her intentions
'I so wish we could Ellie, I wish so much that we were in the playground, none of this would have ever happened and you could be an owl, I would be the crane and we would sing that awkward duet again that made the teachers mad! but no, it's nearly 2010, we dont have those powers anymore'
he remembered the field where he had found her
he remembered hearing hushed voices and turning to run as fast as he could, wishing always he had actually been a bird

How's life treating you down in lovely Devon? I hope all is good.
I've just bought myself a new bicycle ... in time for the wind, hail, rain and general winter bleh! My waterproofs are standing up to the onslaught, wahoo!
waterproofs are wise when living in this UK haha.

So Dave McKean. Sandman or just because?
(I love the imagination and craft of McKean)
I fell in love with dave McKeans work through his Tarot photographs and have since gone on to collect all his books and now DVD's, bit of an obsession, but certainly healthy. It's such a fantastic collection.

I sat through MirrorMask with a stupid grin on my face! Something about his vision just gets to me. I think you are a bigger fan though
Mirromask was such a perfect chance to see his vision fully, it was really so fulfilling.
